Heart Rate Lab

Today the children conducted an experiment during their Science lesson. The boys and girls predicted their resting heart rate and then, in groups, they recorded one group member's resting heart rate and then heart rate after 2, 4, and 6 minutes of running on the spot. The children discovered that the heart speeds up during exercise in order to deliver more oxygen and nutrients to the muscles. The groups worked very well together with one person acting as group leader and time keeper, one the "exerciser", and one the recorder. Here are a few photos from during the experiment. Enjoy!
